The artist has knitted this house to explore her scenic childhood memories, as a refuge for day-dreaming and reconnecting with loved ones. Hence, one can rearrange the composition of these knitted objects and create a story out of it.

These knitted belongings look different than reality, while presenting a distorted image rather than a real one of memories. It consists of living and non-living ones.

Few botanical features are knitted, like a Guava tree, placed over a raised bed along with a hanging cacoon and a hiding self figure of the artist inside it, presenting a different typology of the house, Similarly, a knitted kachnar(Bauhinia) tree`s fragrance further showcases artist´s favourite cuisine cooked by her mother, which instantly greeted the artist at the entrance whenever she came home after a long day.

At front of the house, electric poles with tangled wires and resting birds on it, are further extending their domain towards neighbourhood — representing layered memories of longtime residents of the house with its surroundings.

A knitted gas heater when placed next to that bed is a reminder of an intimate relationship between a daughter and a mother. The sony sound system further accentuates the whole composition and romanticizes the nostalgic mood with favourites tunes on it.

The knitted ceiling fan with a lizard gazing towards the bed underneath reminds the artist of verticality and fear of being watched by a stranger, which somehow creates a tension of ownership of the space between them. Next to this bed lies a knitted stool representing a green velvet fabric that has been a favourite leaning object of elderly relatives for offering prayers. One can imagine through the knitted texture showing those endless embedded imprints of foreheads and hand palms created over years.

Finally, a Motiya(jasmin) bush is knitted which symbolizes her affiliations with her mother, as it fills up the air and recreates the — as if her mother is bringing those buds into house and transforms this whole place into a universe of wonderland.
